Firstly let me congratulate you on the gr8 blog content and design... really didnt know you were a serious blogger...

I also am in unison with you three... the OS is great, performs well and is fantastic overall.

However there are a couple of things that bother me::
a) The net speed is not on full throttle, windows 7 somehow manages to take away some part of it... dunno how yet...

b) Being a crazy guy, I purposely plugged in my old Dlink Wifi USB Adapter... It detected it on its own with the oldest driver version and started working. Later it showed me that there was a driver update available and after upgrade the stick stopped working. I roll back and it starts again...

My conclusion:: whatever the upgrades, the gr8 look and feel, the efficiency ... remember its windows at the end of the day, certain things will go crazy and there will be no explanation for them.

If you guys have a solution to my net speed issue please let me know...

I completely agree with both of you. The experience of installing Windows 7 is far better than installing any other OS so far.
I appreciate Linux as well. I loved it for a few things like the multi-desktop (one of the things I used to differentiate between Office and Home). I didn't like the way I had to install software and find things. I guess it lacked the professional touch, not in developing the OS but in making it easy for user to understand. I still use Linux in virtual environments but it is mostly for test purpose.
When I buy a laptop for my mother, I will prefer it to have Windows 7 than Ubuntu.

I agree Win 7 is by far the best windows yet. However I myself am considered a nerd and by definition I am never happy with just one OS I love Linux Specificaly Fedora and Ubuntu but Windows is also one of my favorites (since windows 7) when vista hit however I lost alot of interest in Windows not due to the problems people mention but mainly because my computer was no longer powerful enough to run it smoothly.

Windows 7 however runs on that same machine 5 times faster then XP did and to me that is a huge plus. Microsoft is heading toward the right direction finaly their close work with Intel and AMD shows on the increased perfomance seen in Windows 7

Will I stop Linux all together?

No I love Linux. Instead I will used them both equaly in a tri-boot environment.

I am right there with you. I've been running Win7 on my ThinkPad X60 since the 4th of July weekend and I won't go back. I even installed a copy of RC on my 13YO son's desktop PC so that he can experience the next generation of Windows as well.

My installation experience can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/kn9h8u
